The 16th annual Share Your Heart Ball will honor the late Adam West, aka Batman, when supporters of Camp Rainbow Gold gather on Feb. 17.
This year’s ball has been themed “Celebrating Superheroes” in honor of the late Adam West, a long-time supporter of Camp Rainbow Gold who died in June 2017. Supporters that night will shine the Bat-signal on Adam West as a real life Superhero to Camp Rainbow Gold children.
West requested that his fans make donations to Camp Rainbow Gold in his memory. And his family has donated a framed, limited edition signed and numbered print of his favorite work “Batdog” for the auction that evening.
The work by Adam West in his other role as an artist is one of only 15 remaining.
Live auction packages also up for bid include a VIP getaway for two to superstar Justin Timberlake’s “Man of the Woods” tour in Miami, and a private plane to whisk a group of six from Boise to San Francisco for a once-in-a-lifetime Culinary Wine Pairing with a custom-created dinner by celebrity chef Michael Mina.
A “Front & Center” Nashville close-up will give two lucky donors the opportunity to sit front row in a private live TV taping with a major recording star. Those two will get a backstage meet-and-greet before the show, followed by an in-studio visit to the popular Storme Warren morning show on Sirius XM’s “The Highway” radio station and lunch at the Palm hosted by DJ Storme Warren.
The Share Your Heart Ball with first-time presenting sponsor The Nancy P. and Richard K. Robbins Family Foundation will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Sun Valley Inn Limelight Room.
The gala event--the main fundraiser for Camp Rainbow Gold—draws more than 400 full-time and part-time Sun Valley residents, supporters from Twin Falls and Boise and friends from around the country.
It will include a sit-down dinner, silent and live auction packages and dancing to the 1970s and ‘80s cover band No Limits.
In addition, Idaho children and families will share their experiences of receiving a cancer diagnosis and the ways in which Camp Rainbow Gold has helped them work through it.
Camp Rainbow Gold was founded more than three decades ago by Dr. Dave McClusky, a Twin Falls oncologist. It has grown from one week of summer camp to two oncology camps, a sibling camp and multiple family camps. The program also offers year-round medically supervised programs, social events, teen survivor groups and college scholarships.
All is provided free of charge to the children and their families.
The Share Your Heart Ball was co-founded 16 years ago by then-camp volunteer Kris (Cronin) Nardecchia, who has remained at the helm as chairwoman since its inception.
Tickets to the ball are still available. For more information and a full list of Live Auction packages, visit www.shareyourheartball.org.
