Learn how to keep kids safe, happy and healthy in the digital age during a free talk at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Community School Theatre.
Brisa Ayub, director of education programs for Common Sense, will address such questions as:
- How do we use media in balance as a family in an age when kids spend more than 50 hours of screen time every week?
- How do we find quality content?
- How do we set expectations around healthy use to prevent conflict?
- How can we raise media savvy consumers and creators who can think critically, act responsibly and interact positively in a digital world?
Ayub researches and develops the programs and content utilized in more than 100,000 schools worldwide through Common Sense’s Digital Citizenship and Literary Program. Her graduate work in psychology, studying addictive behaviors, communications and development helped shape her understanding of technology use and its effects among youth.
