The Hunger Coalition is celebrating an “incredi-bowl success,” in the words of Kristin McMahon following this week’s annual Empty Bowl luncheon at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood.
McMahon said 321 people turned out, choosing from an array of bowls lovingly crafted by Boulder Mountain Clayworks patrons and others. They then filled those bowls with homemade soups provided by Atkinsons’ Market, The Ketchum Grill, Mahoney’s Bar & Grill, Perry’s Restaurant, Sun Valley Resort and others.
When all was said and done, the belly filler raised $6,805 to start The Hunger Coalition off on the right foot in the New Year, McMahon added.
It’ll come in handy, too, as The Hunger Coalition recently matched its all-time record, with 159 families accessing services in one week.
