Relive the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy once more as “The Nutcracker” graces the stage of the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theatre.
The Eugene Ballet Company will dance the holiday favorite with the help of local dancers at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at the theater on the Community Campus in Hailey.
Eugene Ballet’s Principal Dancer Danielle Tolmie will star as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Koatsu Yashima will dance the role of Clara and Colton West, Hans.
More than 50 students from local ballet schools will appear as baby mice and bon bons.
They have been rehearsing since the first of September for weeks under the instruction of Footlight Dance Centre Director Hilarie Neely.
“The experience with a professional company will be something they’ll remember for years to come and give them inspiration beyond their dance studies,” said Toni Pimble, the artistic director for Eugene Ballet Company.
Tickets are $25 for general admission and $44 for priority seating. Tickets can be purchased online at http://offcampus.csi.edu/blaine/Nutcracker/
