The Homegrown Film Festival is back for an encore presentation.
The festival, which features local skiers and boarders in short films, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at the Sun Valley Opera House.
The evening of films sold out a couple days before its debut at The Liberty Theatre in November. And organizers expect it to sell out again this time.
The one-of-a-kind film festival sports the talents of a dozen Sun Valley skiers, snowboarders and filmmakers whose work has graced ski magazines, ski movies like Warren Miller’s and other venues.
Among them: McKenna Peterson, Lexi duPont, Collin Collins, Stellar Media’s Spencer Cordovano, Yancy Caldwell, Wyatt Caldwell and Chase Cleveland, Banks Gilberti, Jake Strassman, Axel Peterson, Karl Fostvedt and Wing Tai Barrymore, a member of the U.S. Ski Team’s 2017 Men’s Half-Pipe Pro Team.
Tickets are $15, available by calling 208-622-2135. They’re also available at the Sun Valley Recreation Center in Sun Valley Village or online at sunvalley.ticketfly.com.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the films start at 7:30 p.m.
The evening is sponsored by the Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center, along with Sun Valley Resort and Black Diamond Equipment.
