Learn to grow great minds, particularly when it comes to turning youngsters onto nature and the outdoors.
A professional development Project Learning Tree workshop, entitled STEAM in the Forest, will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27-28, at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden and Sawtooth National Recreation Area headquarters.
The workshop is designed for teachers, non-formal educators, parents and others.
The workshop will examine such things as Idaho’s trees, forestry products and careers, identification and measurement of trees, paper-making and paper quality testing.
Friday’s session will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden and Saturday’s from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sawtooth National Recreation Area headquarters.
Cost is $40 and includes materials and snacks. CEUs are available.
The project is sponsored by the Growing Great Minds partner organizations—the Environmental Resource Center, Sawtooth Botanical Garden, Sawtooth National Recreation Area and Blaine County 4H.
