Mountain Rides and the Blaine County Recreation District are holding public forums today and Thursday, Oct. 19, to discuss the use of e-bikes on paved pathways in Blaine County.
The forums will be used to examine the different classes of these bikes with electric motors and how they operate. And they will provide an opportunity to discuss local and state regulations concerning the permissible uses of e-bikes.
E-bikes have become popular in the last few years, especially among those who can no longer pedal the hills as hard as they used to as they get older or suffer from health complications.
The first forum will be held at 5:30 p.m. tonight—Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the Community Campus in Hailey. The second will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Wood River YMCA in Ketchum.
