The Wood River Women’s Foundation wants to give out money. But it needs the help of nonprofits to do it.
The philanthropic organization has put out a call for nonprofits in the Wood River Valley who wish to be considered for the next round of grants.
Applications requesting up to $25,000 must be submitted by Monday, Nov. 13. Applicants will be notified by Jan. 10, 2018, whether their application has advanced to the next stage of the process.
Members of the organizations will follow that up with site visits and report back to members. The entire membership will vote on the semi-finalists in early March.
Funds will be distributed in July 2018.
The Foundation accepts applications in several areas, including arts, education, environment, health, recreation and social services. Applicants are asked to request grants for projects that address a critical community need, develop new approaches to persistent problems, develop new ventures and add to the overall enrichment of the community.
Collaboration among agencies working towards common goals is also encouraged.
Organizations submitting applications must be registered as a 501©3 with the Internal Revenue Service.
Those considering submitting an application are invited to an informational meeting at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Light on the Mountains, just north of Gimlet Road on Highway 75. Even those who have submitted applications before are encouraged to attend, as the process has changed and letter of inquiries are no longer needed.
