David Patrie has been selected to be Sun Valley Economic Development’s new outreach director.
Patrie will succeed Doug Brown, who is stepping away to focus on his consulting business.
Patrie is owner of Sawtooth Strategies, LLC, a consulting company specializing in project management. Before that, he was the executive director of the Blaine County Housing Authority.
He also serves on the Mountain Rides Transportation Authority Board of Directors, which he chaired during 2016. And he’s a board member of the Ketchum/Sun Valley Rotary Club, for which he co-founded the Sun Valley Brewfest.
David lives in Ketchum with his wife Amanda Breen, who is an attorney running for the Ketchum City Council, and son Camden.
Patrie will have his hands full immediately with SVED’s Economic Summit schedule from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Sun Valley Resort. The organization is also monitoring several large-scale housing projects near Bellevue.
“Since moving to Ketchum in 1998, I have been invested in Blaine County’s economic success. I already know many of SVED’s members and I am looking forward to helping improve conditions that support a more vibrant and diverse economy,” Patrie said.
SVED’s Executive Director Harry Griffith said Patrie is someone who can hit the ground running.
“With David’s past background in housing, land use planning and not-for-profit organizations, SVED is gaining a very experienced replacement,” he said.
