Sun Valley Resort will present Darol Anger’s Eclipse-o-Rama Concert with The Furies at 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, at the Sun Valley Opera House.
Anger is a fiddler, composer and educator who has helped drive the evolution of the contemporary string band through his involvement with such path breaking ensembles as Republic of Strings, the Turtle Island String Quartet and the David Grisman Quintet.
An associate professor at the Berklee School of Music, he can be heard on NPR’s “Car Talk” theme song every week, along with Earl Scruggs, David Grisman and Tony Rice. He also was the violinist on the Sim City computer games.
Anger and The Furies will be performing unique, original music celebrating Monday’s Great American Eclipse. One of his latest projects is, appropriately, titled “Mr. Sun.”
