The symphony may be silent tonight. But the music is not.
Pink Martini will bring its “little orchestra” mix of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop to the River Run Lodge at 7 p.m. toight—Tuesday, Aug. 1.
The eight-piece Portland, Ore., played at River Run in 2012. And fans have been clamoring to have them back ever since.
Their songs have appeared in such films as “Tortilla Soup,” “Hitch” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and in such TV shows as “The Sopranos” and “West Wing.”
Tickets are $56.16 for adults and $21.60 for students, available at www.sunvalleycenter.org.
Meanwhile, Ketch’em Alive will present a free concert from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight featuring The Famous Undercover. The group of four men and three women plays cover tunes from bands like Coldplay, Daft Punk, Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars.
The musicians will perform in Ketchum’s Forest Service Park, First and Washington streets. Vendors will have food and drink for sale on Washington Street.
Come Thursday, Aug. 3, Tony Holliday and the Velvetones, a blues/funk/soul group from Salt Lake City, will perform at Mahoney’s Bar and Grille in Bellevue. The free concert starts at 6:30 p.m.
Also on Thursday, Joyride, a Tulsa-based blues band, will join hands with the Hometown BluesBand to perform from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum.
The bands feature Antry & Douglass with Paul Gregory Trent Austin, Johnny D and Patty Parsons. There is no cover.
