Bounce around with “Pinball Wizard” and take the” Stairway to Heaven” when British Rock Royalty rocks the Sun Valley Pavilion.
The two-hour celebration of the music of Pink Floyd, The Who, Queen and Led Zeppelin will take place at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, as part of Sun Valley Opera’s Summer Festival.
The concert is a fundraiser for the Opera.
The Los Angeles group will faithfully reproduce the music of the four British rock groups backed by state-of-the-art video lighting and lasers.
And classic fans can get a taste of things to come at a Diva cocktail party on July 5 at a private home when the groups lead singer Brody Dolyniuk will perform. Those who attend the cocktail party will get premier seating at the July 6 concert.
You’ll hardly get the ringing out of your ears before Sun Valley Opera presents a program titled “Sinatra to Opera” by baritone Andrew Manea.
That Salon Concert will be held at a private home and will include appetizers and wine and beer, in addition to the performance by Manea, who has worked with such opera greats as Marilyn Horne, and James Morris.
Finally, Sun Valley Opera will wrap up its festival with a performance on July 25 by mezzo-soprano Maya Lahyani, the first Israeli-born performer to sing at the Metropolitan Opera. Her concert will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Lahyani, who has been praised for her “big voluptuous sound,” was to have performed this past winter but had to cancel due to illness.
General admission tickets for the British Rock Royalty range from $35 to $150 and are available at the Sun Valley Resort ticket office, at www.sunvalley.ticketfly.com or by calling 888-622-2108.
