Filmmaker Bill Bennett was preparing to embark on a film exploring the subject of fear when he was hit with devastating news that catapulted him into fear.
Soon after, the pandemic hit and his personal fear was immediately dwarfed by the ensuing massive global fear.
Determined not to let his fear consume him, he sought out some of the world’s leading experts in fear management to understand what fear is, how it works, whether we really need fear and how to best manage it.
Bennett is sharing what he learned in the documentary “Facing Fear,” which depicts his global search to find ways to handle his fear.
The film will screen at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Sun Valley Opera House. Bennett, his wife Jennifer and one of the cast members will field questions from the audience following the screening.
The film includes interviews with such people as Dr. Bruce Lipton, who contends that beliefs rather than DNA control human biology in his book “The Biology of Belief;” Dr. Joe Dispenza, who has studied neuroplasticity and mind-body medicine, and Sister Jenna, host of the America Meditating Radio Show, as it examines fear from scientific, biological, emotional, cultural and spiritual perspectives.
It also features rugged and beautiful footage of Tasmania.
“I started my journey choked with fear. Now I’m no longer afraid,” said Bennett, who also produced the documentary “PGS-Intuition is Your Personal Guidance System.”
